The New York Times features FTFF!


The New York Times article “Shaming Children So Parents Will Pay the School Lunch Bill” on May 1, 2017 addressed the issue that Feed the Future Forward has been working to eliminate for the past 3 years, “lunch shaming.”  The front page article highlights many personal accounts of alternative lunches being served, lunches being thrown away by the schools, and the lasting damage this does to our innocent children.  It also highlights many of the grassroots efforts like those of FTFF to stop the shaming and instead feed our children.  Thank you to everyone who helps us continue this effort, and to the New York Times and the reporter

    My children came home the other day from school saying that they was told they would not be allowed to participate in any field trips if they had an unpaid lunch account. I try to make sure they have everything they need but mistake happen and sometimes you forget. It’s not they’re fault.

      So sorry this happened to your children. What a terrible way to treat them when it really is not their fault. That is why we are fighting this fight, to make sure children do not suffer for things out of their control.
